Key events are well weighted and your objectivity is commendable. It is great to have a serious history book finally written about the great game of rugby league. Larakin autobiographies ghost written for retiring players have their place, but they don't do justice to the history of the game nor its historical and emotional link with our community. "Having read other histories of those events - Haynes, Lester, Messenger - I always thought there was something missing. The sequence of events they described always seemed to have some steps missing. Your book filled in the missing steps and made the build up to the rebellion very understandable. The rest of the book detailing the spread and success of the rebellion up to 1910 also fleshed out the history of that critical period. As I hope you can tell, I really enjoyed the book."
