Australia v England 1908/09
in England The First Kangaroos faced hardships unlike any other. Setting sail after having played only a dozen games of "northern rugby", the players endured a six week ocean voyage. In England they met a harsh winter, huge industrial strikes, an arduous match schedule and far more experienced opponents. Despite this they remained in good spirits and came within a point of drawing the Test series. © Sean Fagan / RL1908
